Emergenetics & De Bono six

Emergenetics

Developed through years of psychometric research, the Emergenetics® Profile distinctively measures how you think and behave. It is the next evolution of tools available to organisations, teams and individuals who might be familiar with traditional profiling methods.

The Emergenetics® Profile accurately measures three behavioural attributes (Expressiveness, Assertiveness, Flexibility) and four thinking attributes (Analytical, Structural, Social, Conceptual). The attributes are represented in a clear, colour-coded report, making it memorable and applicable immediately.

Here are the benefits for individuals:

  • Identify activities/situations that play to your natural strengths and those that might require more of your energy

  • Discover how you can adapt your style to work more effectively with others

Here are the benefits for teams:

  • Understand how yourself and others prefer to work

  • Identify and focus on areas of improvement for your team

  • Build a team that delivers results not just as a group of individuals

Here are some of the benefits for organisations:

  • Increased productivity across your organisation

  • Identify and deploy complimentary project teams

  • Develop impactful internal communications with a common language that engages and inspires your entire organisation

  • Successfully manage and embed organisational change

  • More effective business development, sales and marketing efforts

De Bono Six Thinking Hats

Six Thinking Hats is a simple, effective parallel thinking process that helps people be more productive, focused, and mindfully involved. A powerful tool set, which once learned can be applied immediately!

Edward de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats technique is an extremely useful way to debate an issue, solve a problem or to arrive at an important decision. The technique encourages a group to approach the issue at hand from all possible angles.

About the technique

During a meeting it is often the case that people use different thinking processes, which can make it difficult for a meaningful discussion to take place. For example, if someone wants to put forward a new idea when someone else is still thinking about the practicalities of the last idea, they will not listen properly to each other. To resolve this situation, de Bono suggests that everyone thinks about the same issues at the same time, from the same perspective by putting on six different metaphorical hats.
