There is no shortage of options out there when it comes to the areas of leadership development and leadership coaching. You may have been fortunate to have experienced a fair few leadership interventions yourself - although I remain amazed at how many people I have worked with, some at quite senior levels of leadership, who have had little or no leadership development or leadership coaching in their careers. 

 

Being a leader is a conscious decision, a deliberate choice every single day. It is something we do, it is not something that we are (or are not). It is not a role title, job description or, as plenty might have us believe - leadership is not something you have or don’t have. Above all, leadership is an enormous privilege as well as a huge responsibility. 

 

I have had to lead from a very young age, well before my professional career began, and I am still learning, still exploring, always thinking, always recognizing that the thinking that may have worked yesterday is unlikely to work as well, if at all, today, or tomorrow.
